*To make sure Heifer can provide you with activities that best suit your talents there are different opportunities that await you, such as community volunteering, learning volunteering, and international volunteering.
*Heifer Village isn't like your typical museum or classroom. It is a combination of environments, exhibits and hands on experiences designed to awaken visitors to their potential to bring real change for the future.
*In 2008 Heifer had 869 active projects around the globe. These projects consisted in 53 different countries and 27 U.S. States.
*Heifer is made unique by its main partner cornerstones. Cornerstones stimulate wisdom and personal insights. They keep one's mind, heart, and actions balanced. Together Heifer and Cornerstones form a great unique organization. Its main principle is passing on the gift. Out of that gift that is passed on comes out accountability, sharing, caring, sustainability, self-reliance, animal management, and Nutrition.
*Every family and community that receives assistance ensures Heifer that they will repay their loan by donating one or more of their animals offspring to another family in need. The term "Passing on the Gift" came from one family or individual passing on assistance to another family in need.
*Heifer's main approach is to end hunger and poverty. This happens one family, one animal at a time. It secures a future for generations of people who have hope, health, and dignity.
*Group tours are available for approximately one hour with a minimum of 12 people. Tours are available for guest 12 and up. These tours show how Heifer in changing millions of lives around the world.
*Heifer Village is open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m.- 5 p.m., and on Sunday from noon - 5 p.m. (Closed on Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, And New Year's Day)
*Complimentary shuttle service to and from Heifer Village.
